Jackton Scoops Glasgow Doors Open Days Award

Jackton Distillery has been recognised with the Outstanding New Participant award at the 2025 Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival, presented by the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust. It marks a special milestone for our team, and a moment of genuine pride for everyone here at Jackton.

This was our first year taking part in the festival, which celebrates the city’s most interesting buildings, stories, and communities. We wanted to honour that spirit properly, so we opened up areas of the distillery that the public rarely get to see. Visitors explored behind the scenes, including our Maltings, warehouse spaces, and production pathways usually reserved for tours and team operations.

Humbled by The Glasgow Doors Open Days Accolade

The response from the public was incredible. We originally released a limited number of free tickets but quickly doubled capacity after demand far exceeded expectations. Over the course of the event, we welcomed a brilliant mix of locals, whisky fans, curious families, first time visitors, and tourists who happened to be in the city for the weekend. Many told us it was their first look inside a working farm to glass distillery in Scotland.

Throughout the Glasgow Doors Open Days festival, our team shared the full Jackton story – how everything here is family owned. And how we grow our own barley, ferment longer than most, and keep almost every part of the whisky making process onsite. Visitors asked thoughtful questions about our sustainability goals, the history of the steading, our future single malt, and the wider Jackton estate. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

Receiving the Outstanding New Participant award means a lot. It recognises the effort the whole team put into making our first Glasgow Doors Open Days a memorable experience. More than that, it celebrates the warmth, curiosity, and support the public showed us throughout the weekend.

We are already planning how to make next year even better. More access and stories. With more chances for people to get close to the craft that makes Jackton what it is.
