Jackton Distillery is just around 10 miles from Glasgow city centre, making The Steadings a peaceful countryside escape while still being within easy reach of the city. The journey takes around 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic, so you can easily enjoy Glasgow’s shopping, restaurants, attractions and nightlife during your stay.

Jackton Distillery, including our Tasting Bar and shop, is open until 5pm on Mondays and 6pm Tuesday to Sunday. If you’re staying with us at The Steadings, don’t worry, you can come and go from your accommodation outside distillery opening hours. Special events may also mean that some areas of the distillery are open later.

We don’t currently have a restaurant or café at the distillery, but our Tasting Bar serves tea and coffee as well as our range of spirits. If you’re looking for something to eat, East Kilbride is just a 5-minute drive away and has a great selection of cafés, restaurants and takeaways. Alternatively, you can have food delivered directly to The Steadings, so you can put your feet up and enjoy a relaxed night in.

There isn’t a minibar in the accommodation, but you are staying at a working distillery! Our Tasting Bar and Distillery Shop are just a short stroll away, where you can enjoy a drink or pick up a bottle of your favourite RAER whisky, gin or vodka to take back and enjoy in your accommodation. The Tasting Bar and Shop are open Monday 10am to 5pm and Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 6pm.

No, you don’t have to book a distillery tour to stay at The Steadings, but when you’re staying on the doorstep of a working Scottish distillery, we’d certainly recommend it! Even if whisky isn’t your thing, our tour is a fascinating chance to discover how our spirits are made, and you can choose to sample our gin or vodka instead. If you’re driving, no problem. We’ll provide your samples in miniature bottles for you to take away and enjoy later.

While we love our four-legged visitors, unfortunately dogs are not permitted inside The Steadings accommodation. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in designated outdoor areas at Jackton Distillery, but must be kept on a lead and accompanied at all times.

Breakfast isn’t included, but you’ll have everything you need to enjoy a relaxed start to the day. All of our accommodation includes a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, while our two-bedroom accommodation also has a hob. Make yourself at home and enjoy breakfast whenever suits you, or head into nearby East Kilbride, just a 5-minute drive away, where you’ll find plenty of cafés and places serving a cooked breakfast.

The Steadings are all on one level and have wide doorways suitable for wheelchair access. However, please be aware that the accommodation has not been fully adapted for wheelchair users, so features such as kitchen worktops and counters are at standard height. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us before booking, and we’ll be happy to discuss these with you.

Yes, cots and highchairs are available on request. Please let us know what you need when making your booking, or contact us before your arrival, and we’ll make sure everything is ready for your stay.

Yes, under-18s are very welcome to stay at The Steadings, provided they are accompanied by an adult. As Jackton is a working distillery, children and young people must be supervised by an adult at all times while on site. Alcohol can only be served to guests aged 18 and over.
